HONG KONG, May 24 (AP) - A male enhancement pill dubbed Viagra was seized by the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department on Saturday, and authorities said it could be dangerous if it is found. "The drug is being sold in Hong Kong on the black market and it is likely to be found to be dangerous," Customs and Excise spokeswoman Hong Wei said.
The drug is sold under the brand name Cialis. A Hong Kong Customs officials said yesterday they had received reports of counterfeit pills for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
The official version of Cialis was found to contain an inactive ingredient that is similar to sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra.
